Ukraine coach Andriy Shevchenko has declared Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk as the greatest EVER!
Former AC Milan star Shevchenko is a huge fan of the Dutchman who is competing tonight for the Ballon d'Or alongside Barcelona star Leo Messi and Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 2004 Ballon d'Or winner told De Telegraaf, "Ronald Koeman has an excellent generation of top players available and he has a world-class player in all positions.
"Virgil van Dijk is, in my opinion, the best defender ever, or he can be, at least."
Sheva also sung the praises of Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum and Barca's Frenkie de Jong in the Oranje engineroom.
