England manager Gareth Southgate isn't shutting the door on Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.
In August 2018, Vardy made the decision to focus on club football after admitting he was 'not getting any younger' although did insist the door was not completely shut on an international return.
And Southgate told BBC Five Live: "I have always left the opportunity open. The conversation I had with Jamie was around looking at younger players in that position.
"Jamie felt he had travelled enough in that moment where he felt he was back-up for Harry (Kane) which is understandable, but he is playing well.
"We both left that door open and we know the quality of the player and he is showing that every week with Leicester."
