Manchester United icon Sir Alex Ferguson called Harry Maguire after the 2011 FA Youth Cup final, it has been revealed.
The Blades were thoroughly beaten by a team that included Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard.
It was a match to forget for Maguire, who ended up in hospital with concussion.
According to Andy Mitten, writing in UniBet, Ferguson spoke to Maguire on the phone while he was in hospital and sent him some welcome words of advice.
The Scotsman reportedly said if the centre-back took his advice then one day he would play at the highest level.
