Former Shanghai Shenhua assistant coach Nano Rivas says Real Madrid star Gareth Bale remains on the agenda.
The Welshman was linked with a move in the summer, though that deal fell through.
"I understand that Shanghai Shenhua have the financial capacity to sign Bale," Rivas, who operated as Quique Sanchez Flores' assistant in China and was present during the first attempted signing, said to A Diario.
"Several other clubs do as well. Any major club in China would love Bale because of the impact he'd have.
"In Shanghai, the club have been considering his signing for months."
"If he played regularly, he'd make a big difference to the league. He'd undoubtedly be a star."
