Former Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart has hit out at the transfer fees being paid this summer.
The Dutchman is stunned by the money in the game now.
"The transfer amounts are very dangerous," Van der Vaart told Die Welt.
"When I went from Ajax to HSV for five million euros, everyone knew who I was. But nowadays players I don't even know who are leaving for Watford for thirty million euros.
"Professionals earn so much money that they only play for it."
Van der Vaart admits he once rejected a lucrative offer from China.
"What should I do in China? That would not be good for me."
