Real Madrid are hoping to raise funds to land Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba by offloading James Rodriguez on a permanent basis.

The attacking midfielder spent last season on-loan at Bayern Munich, but was keen to return to Madrid in order to sort out his long-term future according to the Mirror.

United, in a bid to ward off interest, have slapped a whopping 150m price tag on Pogba.

Rodriguez is in advanced talks with Napoli, and the funds received by Madrid will likely go straight into the fee for Pogba.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has already splashed out 300m to sign Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao and Rodrygo this summer.

And the French boss must sell players to raise additional funds and among the players up for sale is Rodriguez, who is closing in on a cut-price 35m move to Napoli.
