After months of delay, the Samsung Galaxy Fold is finally released to public. Now, there's rumours that there will be a successor to the foldable device - set to release in April 2020.
The alleged Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is rumoured to feature an under-display camera for a hole-free screen. This makes it the first foldable phone with an under-display camera, but probably not the first smartphone in the world to do so.
For the past few months, there have been other brands like HUAWEI, Xiaomi and also OPPO who have mentioned under-display camera technology. It is likely that these brands will beat Samsung to it, but one can only wait and see.
Meanwhile, Samsung is supposedly using a machines called Hole in Active Area (HiAA) to manufacture its current displays and has received its first HiAA2 equipment that can manufacture under-display camera displays.
The current Samsung Galaxy Fold is obviously way too pricey for an average consumer, so we can only assume that the Galaxy Fold 2 will be even pricier thanks to the advanced technology needed to manufacture the phone.
