For everything that matters in tech

Most of the time, movie makers and studiouswill look at video game titles to make their next big adaption. It's not toohard to see why as video games are packed with rich lore, interestingcharacters and engaging stories. What they do with that gold mine of material,is a story for a different day.

However, up till now, there hasn't reallybeen a movie or TV series based on the people that work on creating videogames. But all that is set to change come February 2020 when the comedy series,Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet, is released on Apple TV+.

This new series produced by Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) goes behind the scenes and follows a team of video game developers as they navigate the challenges of running a popular Massive Multiple Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) and what the team does to keep the game popular.

Interestingly, the trailer for the serieswas presented by McElhenney on 10 June at Ubisoft's E3 2019 press conference. This is because the show is also produced in partnership with the gamedeveloper.

Besides duties as a producer, McElhenney will also star as the fictional company's creative director, Ian Grimm. He is joined by a cast that is made up of Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham, Danny Pudi, Imani Hakim, Charlotte Nicadao, David Hornsby, Ashly Burch and Jessie Ennis.
