The Daily Mail says Newcastle have an interest in Tuanzebe - but must wait for Harry Maguire to secure his move to Old Trafford before making a move.
Steve Bruce is looking for defensive reinforcements ahead of next week's transfer deadline - particularly given he is looking at playing three at the back.
And United defender Tuanzebe, 21, is on Bruce's watch list ahead of the deadline.
Bruce is a huge fan of the England Under-21 international - he signed Tuanzebe for Aston Villa on loan last season before his departure from Villa Park.
