Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was delighted with the spirit shown for their 2-1 win at Crystal Palace.
Roberto Firmino scored five minutes from time to earn the Reds a win at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.
The European champions had been pegged back three minutes earlier by Wilfried Zaha's equaliser having taken the lead through Sadio Mane's 12th goal of the season four minutes after half-time.
I'm not surprised at all that it was tough," said the Reds boss, who has now won on all five league visits to Palace.
Our games against Palace are always similar. We know it's a tough place, the atmosphere is good, they don't give up.
The challenge to everybody and their dogs is that all the teams have players coming back from the international break.
I have no problem today that we weren't brilliant. In a game like this you just have to make sure that you are ready to fight for the result and we were that from the first minute.
Could we have played better? Yes. But we had players on the pitch who on Thursday morning were still on the plane back from Abu Dhabi. That's not too cool.
Getting a result at Crystal Palace, we never take for granted. It feels good."
