David Silva believes the club already has his successor in place in Phil Foden.

Silva made the announcement that he will be ending his journey with City at the end of the 2019-2020 season.

It will be 10 seasons in English football for the former Valencia man.

And he believes that his club will not need to splash out on a big signing to replace him, as they have England youngster Foden to take on the mantle.

"I'm sure that he's going to be a fantastic player and a very good successor to me in the team," said Silva during an event for the Anfi Group.

"I've given him lots of advice. He's taken the information in and he's getting better day by day.

"He reminds me of myself when I was young, especially how he is as a person. He's very quiet but always there competing.

"He hates losing and that makes a good footballer."
