Just a year after selling him to Atletico Madrid for 25m, Villarreal will receive more money for Rodrigo.
The midfielder has completed a move to Manchester City after the English club activated his 70m release clause.
Villarreal will receive 7m of that figure due to their 10 percent sell-on clause.
Villarreal have already received 27m euros for Pablo Fornals this summer.
