Arsenal are on the verge of signing William Saliba after beating off competition from Tottenham.
The Gunners had almost signed the coveted 18-year-old centre-back until Spurs lodged an offer with Saint-Etienne.
The offer included more add-ons and a payment structure that was more appealing to the Ligue 1 club.
Goal says Arsenal have now matched that offer and are now close to sealing a transfer.
Saliba already agreed a five-year with the North London club and will return to Saint-Etienne for the 2019/20 season.
