Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Yevgeny Konoplyanka has revealed he should be playing for Liverpool.
Konoplyanka admits he was blocked from joining the Reds while playing for Dnipro.
(Ihor) Kolomoisky (the owner of Dnipro) was in touch, Konoplyanka told Sport Express.
Liverpool offered 25m. But Kolomoisky then loved football very much and didn't want to sell his players. He didn't need 25 million. He told me not to worry about Liverpool, promised that I would go to Tottenham in six months.
"But after half a year no one returned to this conversation."
Konoplyanka would eventually move to Schalke before returning to Ukraine at Shakhtar this year.
