Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers admits he hopes to buy in January.

With defender Wes Morgan, who turns 36 in January, likely to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, Rodgers is planning for the future.

We're looking at all options to see if we can strengthen in January," said the Foxes boss last week. It's always a difficult window.

You'll always look and if there's value there, then we will do something. If not, then ok, we know the players are going to improve and develop and we'll take it through to the summer.

I've always tried to be positive in the January window. It's normally worked fairly well for us when the availability has been there.

(At centre-back) it's one where we're planning forward, if you look at Wes and where he's at in his career.

Cags has done great, that's why we didn't go into the market and that's why we gave him that opportunity because we felt that we had someone there that could develop and he's been absolutely brilliant. He will get better the more experience he gains.

Going forward, if we're looking at our goals and where we want to be, that position is very important for is. If we can do something in January...

We're looking at different areas on the pitch because you always have to be prepared.

(Soyuncu) has done brilliantly and him and Jonny have formed a really strong partnership but there's no doubt we have to plan forward because of where our other centre-halves are at."
