Ottmar Hitzfeld supports Arsene Wenger taking the job at Bayern Munich.
Former Arsenal manager Wenger is emerging as favourite for the post following Sunday's sacking of Niko Kovac.
And Hitzfeld, a former Bayern coach, is supportive of the move.
He told L'Equipe: "Arsne is someone for whom I have a lot of respect for over his career and all he has achieved. '
"He is a personality who exudes a lot of serenity and human qualities. His social and professional skills are remarkable.
"The most important thing is not age, but drive and determination. To me, Wenger at Bayern, it would be a solution and at the same time good, nice and pleasant."
