Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori is set to enter new contract talks.

The centre-back was due to join Everton on loan this term, but is staying after David Luiz's shock decision to force an 8million move to rivals Arsenal on deadline day.

The Evening Standard says Chelsea were already planning to give Tomori an extension as he has just two years left remaining on his current deal.

But the onus on keeping the England Under-21 international, who starred for Derby in the Championship last season, for the long-term has increased and a new five-year agreement is expected.

He is set to be on the bench for the first league game of the season at Manchester United on Sunday and should make a number of appearances during the campaign, even when Antonio Rudiger returns from a knee injury.
