Liverpool legend John Aldridge has taken aim at Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola ahead of Sunday's big game.
Aldridge wrote for the Liverpool Echo: "Pep Guardiola couldn't wait to ramp up the so-called mind games ahead this Sunday's huge game at Anfield, could he?
"His own players would still have been warming down after their own hard-fought win over Southampton when, having been asked simply about Liverpool's late comeback at Aston Villa, he went straight in on Sadio Mane and labelled him a 'diver'.
"Was I surprised? Not really.
"It shows you that he and Manchester City as a club are thinking about Liverpool an awful lot at the moment.
"For him to then come out straight after the game and talk about Mane 'diving' was quite pathetic, I thought.
"He's definitely trying a bit of gamesmanship to try and influence the official in charge of the game at Anfield."
