Big things are expected of Arsenal's new signing Dani Ceballos - not the least from manager Unai Emery.

From being discovered by Sevilla as a junior running around Utrera, to making a name for himself with Real Betis and winning a move to Real Madrid, Ceballos has long been earmarked as a future Spain star.

Now with the Gunners, Ceballos will be hoping this season can bring him success at both club and international level.

Here's what some of the identities who have come in contact with Ceballos have to say about Arsenal's new midfielder:

AURELIO SANTOS (Real Betis junior coach/scout): "Dani has no discoverer. He had passed through the juniors with Sevilla. He had no luck, he returned to his village and we could see him. He had to pass a test. It was evident that he was outstanding.

"When I found Dani, we didn't go to see him. We went to see some teammates. I was in charge of the three Betis youth teams. Dani was a cadete and this figure appeared. We had seen eleven games of the Cadete of Utrera. We had nothing on him. Before he had barely played and did not stand out. He had had an injury.

"(But) that day he did everything, even missing a penalty. He earned it, being fouled, but missed it. He took the ball, took the corner. He was hyperactive. He stole, passed, dribbled ... he did everything."

JUAN MERINO (Ex-Real Betis coach): "Ceballos has shown that he has enormous qualities, he needs to mature a little more, in every way, but he has qualities.

"That's why Madrid signed him.

"For Betis he would be an impressive player. It is true that when he left there were different opinions, but he is a very basic kid. I would like him to be at Betis and they would welcome him with open arms because we are talking about a very important player."

JOSE MARI (Ex-Sevilla & Real Betis striker): "He is a great player, young and on top of that I think he would like to return to Sevilla again.

"For Sevilla he would be explosive. He is very well known in the city.

"He has to play and, as you can see, with 'Zizou' he will not have minutes."

FLORENTINO PEREZ (Real Madrid president): "Ceballos is going to help us generate new dreams, because he is a young player who is dazzling in the present and will be a very important pillar in the future. He knows what the spirit of overcoming is and has humility and talent.

"This is where you want to succeed and where you should give your best. We are proud that you have chosen this club and that you know that the fans will always be by your side.

"You must succeed in this club for yourself, for your family and for the followers. Work and fight without fainting. Here begins your dream. You have chosen this shield from the heart and you have the responsibility to defend it until the last minute."

QUIQUE SETIEN (Ex-Real Betis coach): "Before leaving in the summer, I told him that it seemed phenomenal that he signed for Madrid, it means a growth with his age, but when you are years older you know how to distinguish reality, and the reality is that it is very difficult to play at Real Madrid.

"I tried to convince him not to sign but to stay here, I could not and now do so again. He has a huge opportunity with a World Cup ahead, we have talked that it could be five very important months for his future, and the possible call for the World Cup.

"He wants to come and help us out and for us it would be very good."

VICENTE DEL BOSQUE (Ex-Real Madrid & Spain coach): "He has great prospects and also for the future he's absolute. It costs a lot to remove players who are in the first team.

"Dani Ceballos has the ability to play at Real Madrid, and he has nothing to envy the players in the club at the moment."

ZINEDINE ZIDANE (Real Madrid coach): He was upset with me (after having just 29 seconds on the pitch), I am very sorry and I have told him. I don't like what happened.

"I'm so sorry.

I am delighted with him, he is charming, he works, he knows he has not had many minutes, but he is still working. He is young and has to stay there. He has to keep fighting and thinking that he will have minutes."

JULEN LOPETEGUI (Ex-Real Madrid coach): "He arrived very well prepared and has taken advantage of his opportunity in preseason. The work has a prize, he is living a great start to the season. Now he has to have continuity. He is on the right track,.

"Ceballos is within the parameters of the player we like, he is improving and growing, it is good for him and for Spanish football."

AURELIO SANTOS: "In Madrid the idea will be to become the substitute for (Toni) Kroos , because of his personality, his position and what he is going to give them. Dani has to pass a process. See how such a large team works and then aspire to have a starting position. It's the same thing (Marco) Asensio did last year.

"He has gone from being a player who dived, who bothered opponents and the referee. Now he lifts his fans and his teammates look for him."
