Manchester United midfielder Fred was pleased with his performance for last Sunday's draw with Liverpool.

Fred has admitted that he enjoyed playing manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's new system of three-at-the-back on Sunday against Liverpool, in which the Red Devils earned a 1-1 draw.

"We did really well tactically on Sunday which was very important," he told United's official website.

"For me I was quite relaxed. With five playing behind me it freed me up to play the way I like to play going forward a bit more.

"I was also really happy with the way I defended. The manager told me to focus, to play well, to minimise the errors and I think I did that well and defended well."

It's a partnership Fred is beginning to enjoy, but he knows the hard work must continue with United in desperate need of results as the pressure continues to rise.

"Passing is one of my main objectives in the game and when I make a lot of passes I'm happy," he added.

"Obviously I'm not happy when I miss the passes so I look to get that right. I work very hard on that.

"I'm really happy for both Scott and myself, we've worked hard together on this in midfield and I hope we can continue this run of form and have more good games and work very hard to help United."
