Real Madrid retain an informal option for Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.
AS says Real had terms settled with Ajax and Van de Beek this summer, with it also agreed that he was only a backup. The midfielder accepted he was strictly second choice to Manchester United ace Paul Pogba.
However, a move to Madrid next summer could yet happen for Van de Beek.
Ajax would be willing to sell the Holland international for 50m - happy to have kept hold of him this season.
For his part, Van de Beek is also satisfied with the arrangement.
