Arsenal legend Ray Parlour once pinned teammate Emmanuel Petit against a wall and said he would cut off his ponytail!

The two were part of an impressive Gunners side under Arsene Wenger, which won the Premier League and FA Cup.

But Parlour admits they did not always see eye to eye, especially when Petit first arrived at Highbury.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Parlour said: "When the French lads came over it was a little bit different - we had a little bit more fun us British guys and they were a little bit more serious.

"So we tried to get a bit of fun out of them.

"But every now and again Petit would walk straight past you. You'd say 'morning Manu' and he'd walk straight past you. And he done it to all the players.

"So we had him once, we nailed him against the wall and said 'make sure you say good morning to everybody because if you don't we will cut your ponytail off.'

"We had the scissors but after that he was as good as gold.

"He didn't realise. He thought it was just a job because in France when he played there, players were just there.

"But it was different at Arsenal. We said 'no, we're all together. It's like a family and we've got to stick together. We go through highs and lows together and that's what makes a winning team.'"
