A BROWN Co. Inc. on Thursday said that its energy subsidiary ABC Energy Inc. had completed the initial phase of the planned acquisition of a 40-percent stake each in two Alternergy Holdings Corp. wind power projects.
The listed firm said ABC Energy acquired 190,714 shares in Alternergy Tanay Wind Corp. (ATWC) and 151,523 shares in Alabat Wind Power Corp. (AWPC).
The transaction represented “approximately 10 percent of the 40-percent equity stake intended to be acquired by ABC Energy in each of ATWC and AWPC,” it said.
A Brown said that to date, ABC Energy had paid around P600 million for the initial stake acquisitions.
The purchases form part of A Brown’s broader effort to expand its presence in the renewable energy (RE) sector.
The company first disclosed the planned transaction in October 2025.
A Brown said that further disclosures would be made once definitive agreements covering the remaining 30-percent equity interest in both projects are finalized.
ATWC and AWPC are among Alternergy’s wind power ventures, which form part of the company’s growing portfolio of renewable energy projects.
Alternergy is a Philippine pioneer in renewable energy, with a capacity of 114 megawatts of operating assets as of end-2025.
A Brown shares closed unchanged at P0.65 each on Thursday while those of Alternergy slipped 1.25 percent to P0.79 apiece.
