KL Metro Group: Thank you. The vision for LHPD was inspired by Malaysia's national flower, the hibiscus. We wanted to create something iconic—something that would put Malaysia on the global map as a premier tourism destination. Our goal was to merge aesthetics, luxury, and functionality. The idea of every villa having a private pool and steam room was a deliberate effort to redefine hospitality standards in the region. Today, we are proud to see LHPD holding two Guinness World Records for "The Most Swimming Pools in a Resort" and "The Most Overwater Villas in a Single Resort." We also aimed to contribute to the local community through job creation and by boosting the economy. Over the years, LHPD has attracted millions of visitors from more than 156 countries, making Port Dickson a thriving hub for both leisure and business travel.
Q: LHPD is a significant project. How do you envision Lexis Hibiscus 2 building upon its legacy?
KL Metro Group: Lexis Hibiscus 2 (LHPD2) is our next step in elevating Port Dickson’s stature. With an estimated gross development value of RM1.6 billion, LHPD2 will include 1,710 units — 910 water homes and 800 sky pool suites. Each villa will feature private dip pools, a hallmark of our brand. One of our exciting innovations is the integration of new attractions, world-class facilities, amenities and more, making this an all-round versatile destination not just for leisure but also for large-scale events.
Q: What impact do you foresee for LHPD2 on tourism and the local economy?
KL Metro Group: LHPD2 is expected to draw an additional 1.1 million annually. If we estimate an average one-night stay costing RM600, this translates into RM660 million in tourism receipts per year. These numbers illustrate the potential to significantly uplift the local economy and create opportunities for small businesses. Furthermore, during the construction phase alone, LHPD2 has generated approximately 2,000 jobs, with an additional 3,000 positions to be created upon its completion. This aligns with our commitment to fostering community growth while setting a new benchmark for luxury tourism.
