Standing on the roof of a moving SUV might seem like a grand gesture, especially on one's wedding day, but it is not only dangerous; it is also against the law.
A recent incident in India serves as a compelling reminder of the risks involved in such acts of bravado.
According to Times Now News, an Indian groom attempted to make a dramatic entrance to his wedding by standing on the roof of his decorated SUV.
He was dressed in a wedding attire posing as a statue while the SUV was moving towards the bride's residence. Apparently, there was a drone filming the event. The footage was broadcast live on social media.
However, his plans were cut short when the police alerted by social media enthusiasts, intervened, arrested him, and seized the vehicle. However, the police did not throw him in jail. Instead, he was permitted to proceed in a different car to his wedding.
While it is natural to want your wedding day to be unforgettable, putting your life at risk and breaking the law are not the way to achieve that.
Such reckless behavior not only endangers the lives of those involved but also sets a dangerous example for others.
It is essential to prioritise safety, especially on joyous occasions like weddings or even the forthcoming Hari Raya 2024.
For those planning to impres folks in your kampung this Hari Raya think before attempting any daring stunts, consider the potential consequences.
No grand entrance is worth risking your life for. Try not to rent fancy cars for the festival like many did in the past. But more importantly if you insist on renting that expensive SUV try not to stand on the roof even while the vehicle is not moving.
