Pastaria Abate

This family-run Italian trattoria is loved for its traditional homestyle Italian fare. Its pasta is handmade daily using traditional methods that have been passed down through generations. On the menu, you’ll find traditional flavours, like the Carbonara, Spaghetti Vongole, and Oxtail Tagliatelle. The latter sees oxtail that has been slow braised in red wine for 16 hours until fork-tender and paired with al-dente tagliatelle. Beyond pasta, the trattoria also serves up hearty mains like the Martini Grilled Pork, an Italian-American dish that sees tender pork loin grilled and glazed in an Italian martini sauce.

Scarpetta

For pasta lovers, Scarpetta needs no introduction. Attracting long queues since it opened, this beloved pasta bar is known for its handmade noodles. The menu is simple, with a handful of dishes to choose from, including the Spicy Alla Vodka that features spicy rigatoni that has been baked to achieve a slightly charred and crispy finish. Osteria Mozza

Visit chef Nancy Silverton’s Osteria Mozza Singapore for Californian-Italian fare (think pizzas, pastas, and more). Here, pastas are handmade in-house and cooked al dente. Go for its All-Pasta Tasting Menu, which seats you at the restaurant’s Mozzarella Bar for a front row view of chefs preparing each dish. The five-course pasta menu takes you through a selection of indulgent dishes. Anticipate plates like the deeply savoury duck ragu paired with Maltagliati (a pasta shape typical of Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region), and the Mafaldine All’Amatriciana. Torno Subito

Internationally acclaimed chef Massimo Bottura’s Singapore concept Torno Subito serves up a menu that celebrates the specialities of the Emilia-Romagna region. Along with traditional flavours, look forward to unique interpretations of Italian classics. The Tortellino is a signature that features handmade mini stuffed pasta bathed in a creamy sauce made from 36-months-aged Parmigiano Reggiano. Sio Pasta

Tokyo’s Michelin-recognised Sio Aoyama has opened its latest concept Sio Pasta in Singapore’s Raffles City. You won’t find traditional Italian flavours here, but rather pasta dishes with a Japanese twist. Fico

Head to Fico for comforting Italian classics. The menu offers a selection of sharing plates, from focaccia to handmade pasta.
