My family & I live in Putrajaya for the past 25 years and during weekends and school holidays, we venture the wetlands considered as Putrajaya's kidneys that play an important role in ensuring balanced ecosystems. We understand that wetlands means where water is a factor in its existence. In Wetlands Park there is a Center for Nature Consciousness as an information & education center on wetlands to foster public awareness about its roles & functions.
We usually have a family picnic at Putrajaya Wetlands Park by enjoying its lakeside and open field picnic spots for a relaxing meal surrounded by nature. However, outside food and drinks are not allowed inside Wetlands Studios. Of course, food is available for purchase at reasonable price inside the studio.
Last weekend when my wife, Zarina & I revisited Putrajaya Wetlands, we are happy to spot a new restaurant, Rumah Makan BUMBU within the vicinity. It offers classic Nusantara-style menu in a natural setting that specializes in local traditional cuisine with variety of Malay, Thai & Western dishes. It includes our favourite nasi lemak, laksa, jemput pisang, lempeng kelapa & cucur udang. The atmosphere is a 'hidden gem' overlooking cool greenery landscapes.
This new restaurant in the heart of Putrajaya Wetlands surrounded by nature can be a great attraction for our relatives, colleagues and friends especially from overseas. Natural greenery softens and relieves the hardness of our concrete walls, the coarseness of metal surfaces & the coldness of glass-faces. I believe the deficiencies of structural designs and aesthetic loss are made up for by physical ambience that we create and the blessings of mother-nature.
