The animated musical KPop Demon Hunters has become a worldwide phenomenon, with both Netflix and Sony Pictures Animations lauded for their phenomenal job on the movie. From storyline and animation to the original soundtrack, it’s one hour and 35 mins of pure entertainment. With its chart-topping music and astonishing number of views, here are all the records KPop Demon Hunters has set and broken.

K-pop fans or not, the movie has gained a huge fanbase and the two fictional bands, HUNTR/X and Saja Boys are currently outperforming some of the biggest bands on the planet. Even the fashion of the animated film has taken over the internet with influencers and cosplayers recreating the looks. It’s amazing how KPop Demon Hunters, an animated film for kids has taken over the world. The Netflix film has had over 130 million views worldwide in the six weeks since its release on June 20, making it the most-watched animated movie ever on the streaming service. It’s a huge feat for a true original film to achieve, considering it’s not an adaptation from any existing work or not based on any previously published lore or fairytale.

HUNTR/X claimed No. 1 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart

One of the key instruments for the movie becoming a blockbuster hit is its phenomenal soundtrack. And the fictional girl group HUNTR/X has some absolute bangers. HUNTR/X has claimed No. 1 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart with their song “Golden”. Currently, it is the only track to have achieve this feat since PSY’s “Gangnam Style” in October 2012, which was the first-ever Korean single to reach the peak in the UK chart.

Highest charting soundtrack of 2025 on Billboards 200

The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack debuted at No. 8, but after spending six weeks on the chart, it is now seated at No. 2, which makes it the highest-charting soundtrack of 2025. Even though the soundtrack of Wicked reached No. 2 in December 2024, it dropped eventually dropped to No. 4 on January 2025.

HUNTR/X topped at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200

HUNTR/X’s hit song “Golden”, performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna & REI AMI, debuted at No. 52 on the Billboard Global 200. The song has spent its third nonconsecutive week at the top of both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US Charts.

HUNTR/X became the first girl group to rank no 1 after Destiny’s Child in 2001

The HUNTR/X song “Golden” finally reached No. 1 after spending seven weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It just beat Alex Warren’s “The Ordinary” and became the first girl group to claim the no 1 spot on Billboards Hot 100 since Destiny’s Child’s “Bootylicious” secured the spot for two weeks in Aug. 2001. And with that, HUNTR/X also became the first K-pop artist ever to achieve this incredible feat.

Saja Boys is the highest charting K-pop boy band in US Spotify history

The fictional demon boyband Saja Boys didn’t only take over in the movie. With only two songs in their discography, they managed to break a record previously set by the K-pop kings BTS. Saja Boys’ villain anthem from the film, “Your Idol”, rose to No. 1 on US Spotify, making them the highest charting KPop boy band in history, dethroning “Dynamite” which topped at No. 3 on the chart.

Though Saja Boys reached took the No. 1 spot in the US Spotify chart first, the girls did not accept defeat. HUNTR/X sealed the Honmoon with “Golden”. The song dethroned “Your Idol” and took the No. 1 spot in US Spotify, making HUNTR/X the highest-charting K-pop girl group in history.
