The actions of a guy who killed a female coworker were exposed when a closed-circuit television (CCTV) in the elevator of an East Jakarta apartment building captured him bringing the victim's body in a trolley.
The suspect known as R was detained, according to a Utusan TV report, when the body of a woman was discovered at JI Kalimalang, Pondok Gede, Bekasi, wrapped in plastic.
After some intense investigation, the police successfully track down the murderer, through CCTV footage from his work.
CCTV showed the culprit behind the disposal of a corpse that had been covered in plastic. The woman’s foot can be seen hanging out of the plastic.
The 36-year-old suspect is seen calmly pulling a trolley filled with luggage, pillows, and the victim's body that has been neatly wrapped in plastic in CCTV footage.
The suspect actually grinned and greeted the two men in the elevator. This is probably to hide his nervousness and by trying to appear jolly and not guilty.
Director of Criminal Investigation for Metro Jaya Police Hengki Haryadi stated that the suspect picked up the 36-year-old victim in an apartment on Monday when the crime occurred.
He claimed that the victim received a phone call from a man who did not get along with the suspect while they were conversing.
The culprit then threw the victim onto the bed after the two of them had argued. In this news, he might be romantically interested in the woman, and the woman might not feel the same.
He claimed that when the woman tried to phone a different acquaintance for assistance, the suspect choked her to death.
According to preliminary investigation, the suspect's actions may have been motivated by personal grievances.
The authorities are still looking into the murderer's true motivation, though. However, it is not yet verified if the woman was raped before she was murdered.
