Juan Manuel Lillo is set to return to Manchester City for the new season.
Lillo left City manager Pep Guardiola's backroom team last year to take charge of Qatar's Al Sadd.
However, it was announced this week that Lillo would be leaving Al Sadd after a year in charge.
Al Sadd thanked Lillo for his work and confirmed in their farewell statement: "Today the coach had a meeting with the players and explained his departure."
Marca says the Bsaque will return to Spain for a short break before eventually returning to City.
Guardiola is keen to welcome back the veteran coach. Indeed, he had Lillo fly to Manchester from Doha for the second-leg of their Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid last season to lift staff and players.
