I had an unforgettable time travelling in the heart of Yunnan, China, where history, culture, and environment all come together. Each stop was more spectacular than the last, and it seemed like entering another universe.
Tiger Leaping Gorge: Where Nature Roars with Power
The scenery in Tiger Leaping Gorge is extremely breathtaking. I could hear the Jinsha River's tremendous smash underneath me as I stood at one of the world's deepest canyons. The water surged with strong intensity that it seemed alive, like the unadulterated might of nature. I felt small and in awe of the sheer, beautiful cliffs that towered over me. It serves as a reminder of how strong the world can be.
Shangri-La: A Touch of Tranquility and the Spirit of Tibetan Flag
When I entered the Shangri-La, I felt as though I had stepped into a colourful dream. The famous Tibetan prayer flags flying in the wind, the expansive grasslands, and the crisp mountain air all contributed to a sense of serenity. As they flapped, the handwritten prayers on each banner sent blessings into the heavens. Together, the colours—blue, white, red, green, and yellow symbolize nature and give the entire space a spiritual, uplifting vibe. I felt at ease, rejuvenated, and a part of something greater than myself as I strolled among them.
Wuhua Tower (五华楼): A Glimpse Into Lijiang’s History
Wuhua Tower stood gracefully over the historic street of Lijiang's old town. Its curving roof, wooden beams, and traditional construction gave it the appearance of a guardian keeping watch over the town. It is surrounded by lanterns, music, and little stores that combine the vibrancy of the present with the allure of the past. It is the ideal location for relaxing, taking pictures, and taking in Yunnan's rich cultural diversity.
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: Touching the Clouds at 4506m

Reaching 4506 meters above sea level on Jade Dragon Snow Mountain was one of my memorable trips, as it was my first time being in a surrounding full of snow. The snow covered the peaks like a soft blanket. The experience was beautiful despite the foggy outlook. I felt that I was on top of the universe as I stood on the wooden platform in the middle of the snow and quiet. It was a peaceful and wonderful moment.
