Kota Kinabalu: The Kota Kinabalu Central Prison is expected to be among those in Sabah that will be selected for the implementation of tahfiz schools which are currently implemented in three other states.
Deputy Director of Kota Kinabalu Central Prison, Jaini Ayong Rajawa, said although it had not been determined when it would be implemented, the desire to expand tahfiz schools in Sabah prisons would be realised in this state.
“For Sabah, if I’m not mistaken, the Central Prison may also be among the ones chosen. It’s just a matter of time as we haven’t received any detailed information from the top management.
“If we are selected, we are ready to implement the programme at any time because it is one that we consider continuous for the Muslim inmates,” he said after attending the Adjournment Ceremony of the Faith Strengthening Workshop at the Kota Kinabalu Central Prison surau here on Thursday.
