It was a bonus for my wife, Zarina and I in accompanying our eldest grand-daughter Iffah of Primary 6 that upon completion of her qualifying entrance examinations to a Boarding Secondary School in Melaka, her parents, Faiz and Jann drove us along the countryside for lunch at Lomak Solai Tampin, a classic indigenous foodie town located at the border of Negeri Sembilan. It was a great traditional culinary encounters for our family to enjoy real tasty tender, duck, beef or fish well smoke with thick gravy (lomak) & lot of local spices.

After good lunch at Lomak Salai, we drove south to visit Tampin Art Alley or better known as “Wall Art Street” to see the brightly coloured murals that breathe life into the heart of this Tampin town. According to Tampin-born artist T.K. Lai, who painted 12 of over 30 pieces that decorated the lane, said he was proud to be a part of the creative art project.
Along the Art Street is Kayo Coffee House, a cosy lounge that offers traditional, comfortable, and relaxing space, perfect for our family interactions. There is a unique local coconut coffees in the menu that standout with great taste, whereas for children can choose any delightful cold glass of juice and variety of delicious sweet bakery for their high tea time.
