Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says the club have not made a decision on Sadio Mane's return date.
The superstar forward will turn out for Senegal in Friday's African Cup of Nations final against Algeria.
And Klopp says it will be difficult for Mane to return before the Community Shield in 16 days time.
"With Sadio, we have to see about him after the final - how he is feeling and stuff like that," Klopp said.
"It will be really difficult. Sixteen days before we play City, his season is finished. We will have to make a decision, but we haven't made it yet."
