Former Chelsea and Tottenham fooball chief Frank Arnesen has been sacked by Anderlecht.

The Belgian giants have had a disastrous start to the season under player-manager Vincent Kompany - with Arnesen paying with his job.

Anderlecht have also named Frank Vercauteren as new first team coach - he arrives to replace Simon Davies, who remains on staff.

Vercauteren had been working as an advisor to Leicester City's Belgian partners OH Leuven.

Anderlecht will cough up a fee to OHL to take on Vercauteren.
