Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers does not want to change youngster Hamza Choudhury's game.

The 22-year-old was slammed by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as being a dangerous player.

A challenge on Mohamed Salah drew particular ire.

But Rodgers defended his midfielder and said he does not want him to lose that tenacity and intensity.

"He's a very honest kid, Hamza," Rodgers told reporters.

"He gets highlighted. He makes challenges and that's what you want because you can't tiptoe about an arena like this.

"He'll gain experience, he's still very young in his game and he's learning all of the time.

"No, he's not [affected by comments from opposition managers]. That's something he'll deal with in his career.

"You have to always protect your players but you always have to be honest as well. I didn't see it as a bad challenge. He's come into the game to try to see the game through and not be easily bypassed and I think he was unfortunate."
