The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday accused the Delhi Government of allowing corruption to spread across several departments after dismantling online and transparent systems introduced during the previous AAP regime.
At a press conference, AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha alleged that the ration card issuance process had become corrupt after the current government scrapped the earlier online “first-in, first-out” system.
“During the AAP government, the entire ration card process was online and transparent. Applications were processed in sequence, their status was visible online, and there was no need for bribery or recommendations,” Jha said. He claimed that once the system was discontinued, corruption returned to the department. Referring to a recent raid in the ration department in which an assistant commissioner was allegedly caught taking bribes, he said the issue went beyond one official and pointed to systemic corruption.
