
State politics has certainly heated up. While in Amritsar, hundreds of BJP workers are giving a warm welcome to BJP national president Nitin Nabin, protests are being held in other parts of the state over an allegedly fake video of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann that has gone viral on social media.
In response, party workers staged a protest in Ludhiana on Saturday against the Shiromani Akali Dal, showing support for the CM and terming the video false propaganda.
The protest was held at Bhai Wala Chowk by the entire leadership and workers of the Aam Aadmi Party in Ludhiana against attempts to tarnish the image of Mann through a fake video and damage his social standing.
On this occasion, party leaders said that Opposition parties were resorting to false and misleading propaganda to gain political benefits, which the people of Punjab would never tolerate. They said that some political parties, frightened by the popularity of Mann, were trying to mislead people through fake videos and false propaganda.
A large number of party leaders and workers, including MLA Madan Lal Bagga, Ashok Prashar (Pappi), Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, K.N.S. Kang, District President Jatinder Singh Khangura, District President (Rural) Tejpal Singh Gill, Lok Sabha Incharge Sharanpal Singh Makkar, Mayor Inderjit Kaur, Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar, Ajinder Pal Kaur, Women’s Wing District President Manisha Kapoor, Vijay Danav, Sahil Agarwal, Nidhi Gupta, Golu Bajwa, Paramveer Prince and Aman Mohie, were present at the protest.
The leaders demanded that strict legal action be taken against the real culprits who prepared and circulated the fake video so that no one dares to indulge in such vile politics in the future. They said that the Aam Aadmi Party is committed to the rights of the people and the progress of Punjab and will neither be intimidated nor bow down to such conspiracies by its opponents.
