The AAP on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Delhi Government over the alleged sexual assault of a three-year-old girl inside a school in Janakpuri, questioning the silence of senior leaders and demanding accountability from the administration and police.

Addressing the media, AAP Delhi unit president Saurabh Bharadwaj questioned Education Minister Ashish Sood over the handling of the case and accused the government of attempting to suppress the matter.

“How long will the Education Minister evade responsibility in case of sexual assault of child inside the school campus?” Bharadwaj said.

He further alleged political links with the school management and asked, “Does Minister not know which BJP leader has bought stake in SS Mota Singh School?”

Raising questions over the police investigation, Bharadwaj also said, “Who is putting pressure on police to protect accused & school management; why is Minister not revealing it?”

The former minister alleged that instead of ensuring justice, police officials were intimidating the victim’s family.

Speaking about his attempts to meet Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Sandhu, Bharadwaj said, “On Tuesday, I called the L-G office seeking appointment, but I have not yet been given time.”
