Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today slammed the Aam Aadmi Party over its “lame defence” of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann after the Akal Takht declared him “anti-Guru and anti-Sikh”.
Reacting to the claims made by the CM and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Warring said, “AAP is trying to defend the indefensible and is telling one lie after another by quoting vague reports from some anonymous forensic laboratories.”
“How come AAP managed to procure a report from two different forensic laboratories within 24 hours to give a ‘clean chit’ to CM Mann?” he asked.
“Even when you knew you were going to lie, you should have lied properly,” the PCC chief said, adding that nobody would trust the ‘clean chit’ reports obtained by AAP within 24 hours.
Senior Congress leader and Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa termed the questions raised by Cheema regarding the decision of Akal Takht as unfortunate and contrary to Sikh traditions and principles.
Randhawa said the remarks made by Cheema clearly indicated that AAP was attempting to challenge the decision of Akal Takht publicly.
