  • Manston Airport in Kent, which ceased scheduled flights in 2014, is moving towards reopening as a dedicated air freight hub.
  • Investment firm RiverOak Strategic Partners (RSP), which acquired the site seven years ago, plans to launch a public consultation on the proposals.
  • RSP aims for the airport to be operational by 2029, providing an alternative to congested London airports for importing vital goods.
  • A Development Consent Order (DCO) for the airport's reopening was initially granted in 2020.
  • The consultation will run from 16 March to 22 June, detailing proposed changes to flight paths and airspace structure to residents and stakeholders.
