Abang Johari calls on Muslim youth leaders to rise with integrity

KOTA KINABALU: Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has urged young Muslim leaders to uphold integrity, embrace digital readiness and serve their communities with sincerity and compassion.

He made the call when delivering the opening address at the Regional Islamic Da’wah Council of Southeast Asia and the Pacific (Riseap) International Youth Leadership Training 2025 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Saturday.

The event was graced by Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman, with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor represented by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya.

Abang Johari reminded participants of Riseap’s role since 1980 in uniting Muslim minorities across East Asia and the Pacific, while stressing the importance of adopting Artificial Intelligence and digital platforms in today’s technology-driven world.
