HIS Majesty Sulan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has approved the appointment of Datuk Sri Abdul Halim Aman as the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) effective 13 May 2026.
He replaces Tan Sri Azam Baki whose contract will end on May 12.
Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, in a statement today, said the proposed appointment was presented by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, to His Majesty yesterday.
The appointment was made in accordance with subsection 5(1) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 (Act 694).
“The government is confident that with his extensive experience and high integrity, Abdul Halim will be able to strengthen governance empowerment efforts, increase the people's confidence and intensify the anti-corruption agenda in the national interest.” – April 25, 2026
