THE Aboitiz Economic Estates is partnering with the city government of Tarlac, Aboitiz Foundation and Aboitiz Construction in a construction skills training program in Central Luzon’s growing industrial sector.
The initiative seeks to equip Tarlac residents with construction-specific skills to support ongoing site development of the 384-hectare TARI Estate and meet future manpower requirements of locator companies once operations expand.
“Industrial estates today must go beyond land and infrastructure. Building the workforce ahead of the demand is critical to ensuring that our locators can operate, scale and compete from day one. This partnership reflects our commitment to enabling it,” said Rafael Fernandez de Mesa, president and CEO of Aboitiz Economic Estates and Aboitiz Land.
For residents, it translates ongoing estate development into immediate livelihood opportunities tied to long-term employment prospects.
For locators, the program is expected to reduce hiring friction, shorten time-to-operations and lower recruitment costs by providing access to a locally trained labor pool.
TARI Estate — located at the intersection of SCTEx and TPLEx and near Clark International Airport and Subic Bay Freeport Zone — is being developed as a logistics-linked industrial hub with integrated utilities, digital infrastructure and estate management services to support locator operations.
The property is also expected to host dedicated Philippine Economic Zone Authority and Bureau of Customs offices by the first quarter of 2027 to streamline regulatory processes on-site.
Expansion efforts, including a partnership with House of Investments through Tarlac Terra Ventures Inc., have increased the estate’s total footprint to 384 hectares, reflecting continued investor confidence in Central Luzon’s industrial growth corridor.
Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap said the program will help prepare the local workforce for global companies operating in the area.
“We are grateful that global enterprises like Coca-Cola and Ajinomoto have chosen Tarlac as a place to invest, bringing jobs and opportunities to our city,” Yap said.
“Through this joint skills training program with the Aboitiz Group, we are equipping our community to meet the high standards of these global brands.”
Once fully operational, TARI Estate is projected to generate more than 60,000 jobs with a complete operating ecosystem for industrial locators.
