MANILA, Philippines — Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower) on Tuesday reported that it had a net income of P7.90 billion in the first quarter of 2026, a 71 percent increase over the P4.6 billion recorded in the same period in 2025.
Furthermore, its EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) was at P20.30 billion for the first quarter of 2026, up by 35 percent from the P15 billion reported during the same period in 2025.
The company said that both increases were mostly due to higher margins in its Generation segment, primarily attributable to increased contracted capacity, higher availability of its coal plants, and the delivery of new solar power plants.
In a statement, the company said that it would be allocating P62 billion in capital expenditures for 2026, which will be mainly used for its pipeline of renewable energy capacities and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
AboitizPower said that its renewable energy pipeline includes 639.5 megawatts worth of projects awarded through the fourth round of the Green Energy Auction last September, as well as 147 megawatts of renewable energy and BESS capacities currently under construction.
