BGEN. Christopher Abrahano, the Philippine National Police (PNP) chief for Northern Mindanao, has been named as the new officer-in-charge (OIC) of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

PNP public information chief Col. Allen Rae Co said Abrahano’s new appointment took effect on Sunday.

Abrahano replaced Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin, who had been NCRPO director since November 2024, and had reached the mandatory retirement age of 56.

Abrahano is a member of the PNP Academy “Kaagapay” Class of 1996.

He was the director of PRO Caraga, then briefly served as Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief before becoming Northern Mindanao police chief.

Abrahano said the NCRPO will enforce proactive anti-crime measures to deliver law enforcement services that are fast and felt by the public.

“Our commitment is simple: Every beat covered, every call answered,” Abrahano said in his speech during the change of command ceremony at the NCRPO headquarters at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

“To the people of Metro Manila, expect your police to be present, responsive, professional and respectful. You don’t need influence or connections to receive proper police service.”

Abrahano said that under his leadership, the NCRPO will deliver this exact standard of service to Metro Manila residents, in line with instructions from PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
