Acting strict against the employees/teachers of the education department not reporting for Census duty, Municipal Corporation (MC) Ludhiana has written to the District Education Officer (DEO) seeking stern against the 80 absent employees.

In the letter written to DEO (Secondary and Elementary), Municipal Corporation has recommended that the teachers/employees not reporting for Census duty should be marked absent in their respective schools too. Further, it has been recommended that the salaries of the employees/teachers should also be withheld.

Civic body officials stated that the Census is an extremely important and time-bound government task. In case of violation or any kind of negligence, departmental action will be initiated, for which the concerned school head and employee will be solely responsible.

The civic body officials stated that notices have also been issued in the past, but a certain number of teachers/employees have not reported for duty.

Appealing that it is a national duty and teachers/employees should immediately report for Census duty, civic body officials stated that stern action will be taken against violators.
