AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has hit back at Genoa president Alberto Zangrillo over claims of a "murderous act".
Maignan was sent off during Milan's 1-0 win on Saturday for a reckless challenge on Caleb Ekuban and slammed by Zangrillo in the aftermath.
But the Frenchman has since responded on social media: Zangrillo! Words have meaning.
"What happened yesterday was a gamble, perhaps a deplorable gamble, but in no way was it 'murderous.'
I wish you the best for the future and hope you will never have to experience what you just accused me of."
