Departing AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud says he'll retire internationally after France's Euros campaign.

Giroud will join LAFC this summer.

He told L'Equipe: "To tell the truth, I have to say that this will be my last competition with Les Bleus. Obviously I will miss it a lot, but I think it will be over after this summer. We have to leave room for the young people."

Giroud added: "You also have to know how not to overdo it with the season. You have to find the right balance. Afterwards you should never say 'I won't drink water from the fountain anymore', but be realistic.

"As I said, I also feel physical tiredness and (Raphael) Varane said it after the World Cup and he was right. I always said that I would stop when my body asked me to, but for France, in my opinion, it will be over."
