AC Milan striker Emil Roback has explained his absence from loan club IFK Norrkoping.

The young Swede caused concern when IFK chiefs admitted they hadn't had contact with him for a fortnight.

After IFK's public appeal, Roback called sporting director Toni Martinsson to assure him he was okay.

The Milan forward has now discussed the reasons for his absence to Sportbladet: "I haven't been feeling particularly well lately, but very badly. I have been absent from almost everyone except my family.

"I just felt that the head was not in the right place. It was as if I locked myself in. I know of course that it wasn't the best thing I could do, but now it happened.

"It wasn't fun, of course. Outwardly, it looks like I've just disappeared, which I have. But I haven't just screwed up in the club. Many people have contacted me and wondered how I was doing and some have even thought that I have been kidnapped.

"Yes, I would probably say that it is a form of depression. I have never experienced this before.

"It feels okay. Now I'm back and it feels good. Now I will make the best of the situation and hope to get back to where I know I can be. I still have big goals with my football."
